You must have been in such a situation when you wanted to remove or edit some file or directory, but couldn't do that because it was locked by some other process. Sometimes it's quite a difficult task to find and stop the process. LockHunter is a simple utility that helps in finding and killing such processes.

First of all, you should define the folder or file you want to analyze for blocking processes. It can be done right from the program's interface or using a special item integrated into Explorer menu. After you have defined the file, the application shows you the list of all the detected processes that block it. Then you can unlock the file, remove it, close or delete the blocking processes. If you decide on removing the file, LockHunter places it into Recycle Bin. This feature is really useful, because you can restore the files that have been deleted by mistake. On the developers' home page you can download the program's installation files both for 32 and 64 bit Windows. The application is absolutely free and has very low system requirements.
